Argentina Holds National Strike Against Labor Reform

Buenos Aires, Feb. 11 (NA) – The State Workers' Association (ATE) reported a 92% adherence to the national strike prior to the march they will hold to Congress starting at noon to demand the rejection of the labor reform bill in the Senate. "The high level of compliance with the measure demonstrates that workers are aware of all the harm that this law entails and that its rejection is widespread," stated ATE's general secretary, Rodolfo Aguiar. Along the same lines, he stated that today begins in Congress "the greatest offensive that has existed in democracy against workers" and accused the government of "travelling with a briefcase" through some of the provinces visited by the Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, over these months. He also pointed out that "bribes in the Senate" by La Libertad Avanza (LLA) will also begin: "They are spending millions to get our positions"
